Polymers Division Products
For the PU Leather and chemicals formulator market
Polyurethanes are synthetic polymers synthesized for the first time in Germany between the First and Second World War. Chemically speaking, they are produced by a chemical reaction of an isocyanate and a reaction partner, named polyoil, that is generally a polyester or polyether, or in some cases a polycarbonate.
The reaction that takes place when synthesing the polyurethanes is defined “polyaddition”. This reaction forms a macromolecule, that in morphological terms, consists of a succession of rigid segments (isocyanate residues) alternating with soft segments (polyol blocks) linked by a chemical bond between themselves that is called “urethane bond”.
The Water dispersions, speciaties of Fenice SpA hereby offered, are a peculiar group of selected PU BINDERS, dispersed in a stable way into water. These high-tech binders have a wide utilization in many industrial sectors like paint and varnish, coatings for wood, paper industries, PU leather production and of course in the leather finishing where we play an important role.
